Description of Service:
Is your laptop or desktop having trouble turning on or connecting to the network? Welk IT can help with these situations as they can be caused by a variety of things.
Generally Applies to:
Any team member using IT equipment for their daily tasks.
How to Request Service:
If your laptop or desktop does not want to turn on or will not connect to the network, please submit a ticket through the IT Service Desk.
Team Member Responsibilities:
With the exception of laptops, all computers require power and as such, please ensure that the device is plugged into an outlet which has power. How can you tell? If plugged into a surge strip, make sure the surge strip lights up or another device on the surge strip operates properly (such as a lamp which turns on or off). If there is a network connection problem, make sure that the network cable for the device is plugged in firmly. If a WiFi challenge, try to turn off WiFi and rejoin. If all else fails, try to restart your device.
General Turnaround Time:
These challenges can often times be resolved by team members quite quickly themselves as surge strips often accidentally get their switch turned off by feet shuffling under desks. If you have fulfilled team member responsibilities and you are still not working properly, this is usually a high impact challenge where we assist straight away.
